About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the COSC 3P93 Parallel Computing course for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Compensation is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026: $23.30 per hour for those without a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree, and $36.67 per hour for those with such a degree. Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. Requirements
- Must have completed COSC 3P93 and achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- Must be at least a third- or fourth-year student currently enrolled in Computer Science, or have completed a Computer Science or equivalent degree
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
