About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course CLAS/VISA 3P25 - Art and Architecture of Classical Greece and the Hellenistic World. The compensation for this position is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) or $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

• PhD in Classics or closely related field, in hand or near completion.
• Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
• Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of Classics.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled contact time with students
• Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.
