About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The course is CLAS 3P31 - Art and Archaeology of Pompeii. Compensation for a full course is $15,775.20, nominally 390 hours. Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement and include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.

Requirements

  • PhD in Classics or closely related field, in hand or near completion.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
  • Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of Classics.
