About The Position

This part-time substitute position is part of a partnership with a school district. Substitutes may be assigned to various district sites based on daily staffing needs and must be ready to travel between locations. Shifts and locations are not guaranteed; the employee is responsible for responding promptly and committing to available assignments. The stated schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The pay rate is $22.50 per hour. As a California Schools Talent Collaborative (CSTC) employee, the successful candidate will initially be placed at a school site as an Instructional Provider for three months. During that period, the employee is expected to apply for an equivalent district position and complete the district’s hiring process. After successfully completing that process and serving at least three months with CSTC, the employee will be eligible to transition to direct district employment. Under the direction of the Expanded Learning Site Supervisor, the employee facilitates and implements program activities, provides assigned instruction to TK–12 students, and supervises students. The role includes working with students individually and in groups, preparing and delivering activities, monitoring student progress, maintaining records and a safe, organized learning environment, communicating with parents, and attending staff meetings and training. The work takes place indoors and outdoors in classrooms and on playgrounds, with moderate noise typical of children at play. Physical activities include seeing, hearing, speaking, operating instructional equipment, bending, kneeling, crouching, sitting or standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting or moving objects normally not exceeding 30 pounds. The employee must be available for the full Monday–Friday shift schedule, travel to other sites as needed, and respond to open shifts.
