About The Position

This substitute-pathway position is part of a partnership with a school district. Substitute Instructional Providers may be assigned to various sites across the district based on daily staffing needs. Shifts and locations are not guaranteed; providers must be ready to travel to different sites and respond promptly to available open shifts. The schedule is Monday through Friday, and employees must be available for the entire shift schedule. As a California Schools Talent Collaborative (CSTC) employee, the provider is placed at a school site for an initial period of three months. During that period, the employee is expected to apply for an equivalent district position and complete the district’s formal hiring process. After successfully completing that process and serving at least three months with CSTC, the employee may be eligible to transition to direct employment with the district. Under the direction of the Expanded Learning Site Supervisor, the provider facilitates and implements program activities, provides assigned instruction to TK–12 students, and supervises students. The role pays $21 per hour; individuals who meet defined attendance performance standards may be eligible for an hourly bonus. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 48 semester or 60 quarter college units, or pass the NCLB test. The position requires passing a fingerprint-based Live Scan background check and providing a clear TB test. Reliable transportation is required. Driving is not a regular requirement, but employees who drive a personal or company vehicle for work must have a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance on file with HR. The work takes place in indoor and outdoor classroom and playground settings with moderate noise, such as typical school noise with children at play. The role involves monitoring student work, communicating with students and others, operating instructional equipment, bending or kneeling to assist students, sitting or standing for extended periods, and lifting or moving objects normally weighing no more than 30 pounds.
