About The Position

Cengage is hiring an Inside Education Sales Consultant to sell digital product solutions in the K12 market. The consultant meets virtually with prospective customers, develops territory and business plans, pursues new business, and works toward quarterly and annual sales goals. The role also includes forecasting and reporting sales activity using company sales tools. The position requires a home office and work hours aligned with school schedules. The role is eligible for the company’s variable sales incentive compensation program. The listed base pay range is $19.00–$24.00 USD, with an annual target variable compensation of $33,000; actual incentive earnings are not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven record of consistent sales and goal achievement performance.
• Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
• Ability to formulate and carry out sophisticated sales solutions.
• Ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain effective working relationships with customers, prospective customers, internal business partners, colleagues, and management.
• Territory management and time management competencies.
• Strong proficiency with business technologies, including PCs, mobile phones with email, multiple applications, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Maintain a home office and hours aligned with school schedules.

Nice To Haves

• Sales experience in and/or validated understanding of K12 digital curriculum support products and delivery.
• Technology proficiency and ability to discuss online access and how technology can impact the classroom and support district initiatives with customers.
• Aptitude for operating in a changing environment requiring innovative approaches and customized solutions to meet customer needs.
