About The Position

The Inside Counter Sales - Intercompany role is based at Anchorage, AK Millwork (BMS). This customer-focused position supports customers with product knowledge, sales expertise, and customer service for projects such as decks, fences, sheds, and stairs. The role combines in-person, phone, and email customer assistance with sales, order processing, delivery coordination, and support for yard and store operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Six months of sales, retail, customer service, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience in building materials, home improvement, construction, or related industries.
Knowledge of estimating materials for residential projects.
Experience operating material handling equipment or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Assist retail customers in person, by phone, and via email.
Answer questions about products, pricing, availability, and returns or exchanges.
Help customers select products and solutions suited to their needs and provide professional, responsive service.
Promote and sell company products, services, and related solutions.
Prepare material estimates and project quotes for smaller construction projects, including decks, fences, stairs, and sheds.
Identify opportunities to increase sales through recommendations and add-on offerings.
Build knowledge of company products, pricing, and promotions.
Enter customer orders accurately into company systems.
Schedule and coordinate product deliveries, monitor order details, and follow through on customer requests.
Assist with inventory management, stocking, merchandising, and signage.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Participate in customer workshops and educational events.
Resolve routine customer concerns and escalate more complex issues when needed.
