About The Position

Trexis is hiring an Inside Claims Adjuster Trainee to join its claims team. The role focuses on accurate, efficient claims handling and delivering quality customer service. The selected candidate will be hired as a temporary employee, with the potential to be promoted to a full-time employee with benefits after meeting the expectations of the position.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Claims Best Practices, tort laws in the states where the company does business, and Department of Insurance regulations, particularly state fair claims practice acts.
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• General office skills, including faxing, copying, and filing; proficient typing.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows 95 or above, Microsoft Access, the AS 400 system, and internet browsing.

Nice To Haves

• College degree preferred.
• Experience in insurance or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply Claims Best Practices in file handling and meet departmental quality standards, as measured by monthly unit audits and supervisor file reviews.
• Organize time and effort across claims to reduce the time needed to close property damage and comprehensive/collision claims, negotiate physical damage claims equitably, and control expenses through appropriate repair management.
• Provide quality customer service by making sound claim decisions and communicating them effectively to customers, peers, and managers; customer surveys and complaint logs may be used to assess performance.
• Negotiate bodily injury claims promptly and effectively, using BI cashouts where appropriate through the use of Meds Incurred and Open Meds Releases.
• Develop personal attitudes, knowledge, and skills while demonstrating appropriate organization and communication skills.
