Independent Optometrist - Walmart
About The Position
An independent optometrist leases space inside a Walmart store and takes a leading role in patient care related to eye and vision care, as well as general health and wellbeing. As an independent lease holder, the optometrist has autonomy to establish practice days and operating hours, control the patient schedule, set the fee schedule, and keep 100% of exam and professional fees. For fair market value, the optometrist may opt into equipment and instrumentation and administrative and/or opt-tech support services, where permitted by state law. This is not employment with Walmart Inc. or any entity owned by Walmart Inc.; the arrangement is an independent lease.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
- Valid state optometry license.
- Ophthalmologist MD or DO from an accredited school.
- Valid state ophthalmology license.
- General liability certificate.
- Professional liability insurance certificate.
Responsibilities
