Independent Optometrist - Walmart
About The Position
An independent optometrist leasing space inside a Walmart store provides patient care related to eye and vision health, as well as general health and wellbeing. The independent lease holder establishes their own practice days, operating hours, patient schedule, and fee schedule, and keeps 100% of examination and professional fees. For fair market value, the lease holder may opt into equipment and instrumentation, administrative support, and/or optometric technician support services where allowed by state law. This is an independent leasing opportunity, not employment with Walmart Inc. or its subsidiaries.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
- Valid state optometry license.
- Ophthalmologist MD or DO from an accredited school.
- Valid state ophthalmology license.
- General liability certificate.
- Professional liability insurance certificate.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care related to eye and vision care and general health and wellbeing.
- Establish days of practice and hours of operation.
- Control the patient schedule.
- Set the fee schedule.
- Keep 100% of examination and professional fees.
