About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators to work under a written independent contractor agreement. The company does not hire company drivers. Owner-operators may negotiate rates with dispatchers and receive load offers tailored to their preferences. The company describes its dispatchers as having more than four years of experience and broker contacts, and says it has a large number of loads.

Advertised rates for Sprinters are $0.85–$1.35 per mile in good areas on long-mile loads and $0.85–$1.10 per mile in bad areas on long-mile loads. Rates for Sprinters in Canada are $1.25–$1.55 per mile. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated work days are Monday through Friday. The job description gives a minimum average monthly salary of $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and whether the driver has Hazmat certification or TSA/TWIC credentials.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
• The owner-operator and any drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The owner-operator and any drivers must speak, understand, and read basic English; Russian speakers are also hired.
• All drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a load.
• Have at least 6 months of driving experience.
• A Sprinter must be model year 2016 or newer.
• Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE, and all decals must be removed.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an owner-operator under a written independent contractor agreement.
• Work with dispatchers to receive loads suited to the owner-operator’s preferences.

• Provide vehicle registration and insurance documentation.
• Inform the company before putting the vehicle on the road if changes are made to it.
