About The Position

Johnston County Department of Social Services is hiring an Income Maintenance Caseworker II in its Family and Children's Medicaid Unit, located at 714 North Street, Smithfield. The position determines eligibility, processes applications, and redetermines eligibility for Family and Children's Medicaid recipients, including Presumptive cases. The caseworker obtains necessary third-party verifications and communicates with Medicaid recipients to gather information needed to determine eligibility in the NC FAST system. The role also ensures that timeliness standards are met in accordance with Medicaid policy. Final candidates are subject to a pre-employment drug screen and background check, which may include criminal and motor vehicle records. A pre-employment reference check will be conducted. A conviction record does not automatically disqualify an applicant unless required by state law; situations are reviewed individually. In-house applicants must apply online. The employer may accept work against if fully qualified applicants are not located.
