About The Position
The In Room Dining Server delivers food and beverage orders to guest rooms according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently, and assists with maintaining the Room Service area and equipment. The role supports the Food and Beverage Department by completing daily operational procedures, maintaining food and beverage safety and quality in accordance with hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications, and communicating with the General Manager, department managers, supervisors, and staff. The server must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, and may perform other duties as assigned. The position is at Playa Largo Resort & Spa, an award-winning 175-room luxury waterfront resort in the Florida Keys. The resort includes guest rooms and suites, private bungalows, a beach house, marina, spa, fitness center, sports courts, event spaces, restaurants, bars, in-room dining, and banquet and catering operations.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a similar position dealing with the public.
- Meet the state minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers so they can understand.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- ServSafe and/or food safety training.
- Alcohol awareness training, such as TIPS.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
Nice To Haves
- Some college.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for the clientele.
