In Room Dining Server- Room Service- Full Time
About The Position
The In Room Dining Server sets up and delivers in-room dining orders promptly and to guests’ satisfaction. The role serves guests according to established quality standards, completes setup and closing duties, and maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work area. The server is familiar with pre-check and cashiering procedures, presents checks and collects payment, and follows state liquor laws. The position also requires handling guest-related situations and relaying guest complaints or compliments to the appropriate supervisor. Shift assignments may be irregular and include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience as a food server in a high-volume and/or fine-dining environment.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to push in-room dining carts weighing up to 35 pounds for an entire shift.
- Ability to lift hot boxes weighing up to 30 pounds to waist and chest height for an entire shift.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, lift, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat, and grasp.
- Ability to walk and stand for an entire shift.
- Availability to work irregular shifts covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Run food orders to guest rooms or assigned areas.
- Restock silverware, plates, linen, condiments, and beverages.
- Dress tables, fold napkins, and refill ice buckets.
- Bus tables and trays from guest rooms or hallways.
- Serve guests according to established quality standards.
- Complete setup and closing duties in a timely manner.
- Follow pre-check and cashiering procedures, present checks, and collect payment.
- Adhere to state liquor laws.
- Relay guest complaints and compliments to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within the area of responsibility.
- Use hands and wrists in repetitive motions to pour liquids.
- Use a computerized POS system for order entry and pre-check functions.
- Handle guest-related situations.
