About The Position

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is seeking an In-Room Dining Server to provide timely, personalized food and beverage service to hotel guests in their rooms. The role includes checking completed kitchen orders against the guest’s original order, delivering food while maintaining quality, describing menu items, and responding to guest requests and concerns. The server also maintains room-service tables and side stations, handles guest checks and payments, takes orders when the order taker is unavailable, and plates and prepares small food items. The position requires professional collaboration with coworkers and supervisors and compliance with Four Seasons’ work rules and standards of conduct.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to carry and balance a tray.
• Must provide documentation proving eligibility to work in the United States.
• Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evening or overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Check completed kitchen orders against the order taker’s or guest’s original order, and deliver food orders with any special needs or requests.
• Transport items to guestrooms in a timely manner to maintain food quality.
• Greet guests and describe menu items, including their origin, taste, and preparation methods.
• Explain options for tray and dishware removal and respond to tray-removal requests according to established time standards.
• Break down, clean, and set up room-service tables, condiment setups, flatware, dishware, and room-service side stations.
• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to concerns and requests.
• Close guest checks accurately, secure the room number and signature, and properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals.
• Take guest orders when the order taker is unavailable.
• Plate and prepare small food items.
• Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
• Work harmoniously and professionally with coworkers and supervisors.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
