About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families in the Houston, TX area, including Katy, Richmond, Houston Heights, Pearland, Sugar Land, and Pasadena. This role offers a unique practice environment free from waiting rooms, double-booked appointments, and corporate production pressures. The focus is on providing compassionate, unhurried end-of-life care. The practice is privately held, family-owned, and doctor-led, and importantly, does not utilize non-compete agreements, allowing veterinarians to build their careers on their own terms. This position is ideal for experienced veterinarians looking to transition from the fast pace of general or emergency practice, those returning to medicine after a break, or individuals seeking a schedule that accommodates family life.

Requirements

• DVM/VMD/BVMS degree
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to Work Independently in a Mobile Environment
• Weekend Availability (Rotational)
• Ability to Lift up to 45 lbs Unassisted
• Professional Communication Skills
• Exude Compassion, Dignity & Respect to ALL

Nice To Haves

• Experience in handling difficult conversations with pet owners.
• Desire for a more meaningful and less rushed veterinary practice experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia services for pets.
• Manage end-of-life care appointments with compassion, dignity, and respect.
• Communicate professionally with team members and pet families.
• Work independently in a mobile veterinary environment.
• Be available for rotational weekend duties.
