About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families in Pittsburgh, Carnegie, McKees Rocks, Bellevue, and Brentwood, Pennsylvania. This role offers a unique practice environment free from waiting rooms, double-booked appointments, and corporate production dashboards, allowing veterinarians to focus on providing compassionate end-of-life care. The practice is privately held, family-owned, and doctor-led, and importantly, does not utilize non-compete agreements, ensuring veterinarians have career freedom. This position is ideal for experienced veterinarians looking to move away from the fast pace of general or emergency practice, those returning to medicine after a break, or individuals seeking a schedule that accommodates family life. The core philosophy centers on providing meaningful, unhurried end-of-life care.

Requirements

• DVM/VMD/BVMS degree
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to Work Independently in a Mobile Environment
• Weekend Availability (Rotational)
• Ability to Lift up to 45 lbs Unassisted
• Professional Communication Skills
