About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families across Charlotte, Huntersville, Belmont, Harrisburg, and Matthews, North Carolina. This role offers a unique practice environment free from waiting rooms, double-booked appointments, and corporate production pressures. The focus is on providing compassionate end-of-life care with adequate time for each family and their beloved pet. Heartstrings Pet Hospice is a privately held, family-owned, and doctor-led veterinary practice that explicitly does not use non-compete contracts, ensuring veterinarians have career freedom. This position is ideal for experienced veterinarians seeking a less demanding pace than general or emergency practice, those returning to work, or individuals needing a schedule that accommodates family life.

Requirements

• DVM/VMD/BVMS degree
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to Work Independently in a Mobile Environment
• Weekend Availability (Rotational)
• Ability to Lift up to 45 lbs Unassisted

• Professional Communication to Team & Families

Responsibilities

• Serve pet families across Charlotte, Huntersville, Belmont, Harrisburg, and Matthews, North Carolina.
• Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia services.
• Conduct difficult conversations with compassion, dignity, and respect.
• Work independently in a mobile environment.
• Communicate professionally with the team and families.
