About The Position

Visiting Angels Longview is seeking compassionate In Home Caregiver - Housekeepers to support seniors and others in need in Carthage and the surrounding East Texas area. The role provides companionship and assistance with everyday activities, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, mobility, and transportation. Caregivers may have opportunities for advanced training in dementia or Alzheimer’s care. Shifts offered include full-time, part-time, PRN, short shifts, and 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver orientation.
Knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate approach.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
