In this role, the specialist serves customers by helping issue learner’s permits, converting out-of-state licenses, administering examinations for first-time drivers, and issuing identity cards in compliance with state laws and regulations. The work involves interacting with a diverse population, following established guidelines, and handling customer details quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Patience, a friendly manner, and a genuine interest in helping others are important. High-volume centers may involve incidents such as irate customers, falls, road-test crashes, and customer illness.
