About The Position

Performs Human Resources functions with limited oversight from HR Management, including recruiting and selection, employee/labor relations, benefits administration, onboarding/orientation, and recordkeeping. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with labor regulations and supporting employees throughout their tenure with the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field, OR a High School Diploma plus at least 8 years of experience.
  • With a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in a Human Resources Generalist position.
  • Strong experience in recruitment and employee relations required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to motivate individuals and groups toward the successful accomplishment of goals and objectives.
  • Ability to successfully use creative thinking, problem solving techniques and independent judgment in making recommendations and decisions.
  • Ability to give presentations to both large and small groups.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive Company and employee data.
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the Company's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a valid passport.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal and applicable state labor regulations, the Service Contract Act, proper recruiting and selection techniques, and benefits administration.

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in activities related to recruitment and selection for all open positions, including writing and placing employment advertisements, administering the job posting system, maintaining and updating applicant and job requisition information in the Applicant Tracking System, screening resumes, routing resumes to the hiring manager, scheduling interviews, meeting with potential employees, ordering background checks, extending employment offers, typing offer letters, and completing recruiting metrics.
  • Maintains the Vacancy Report and sends a weekly vacancy report to the VP of HR and the HR Director.
  • Prepares and processes Employee Notifications (ENs).
  • Conducts new employee orientations and 30-day new employee and supervisor call backs.
  • Maintains personnel folders.
  • Conducts employee out-processing interviews.
  • Performs benefits administration duties, including conducting benefits plan briefings, adding/removing employees and dependents from benefit plans, distributing benefits documents, answering benefits questions, resolving employee benefit claim issues, assisting with 401(k) enrollments and distributions, completing disability claim forms, and tracking FMLA absences.
  • Develops and implements Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Programs to ensure compliance with legal and contractual requirements, and prepares Affirmative Action Plans for all sites.
  • Tracks due dates for new employee orientation performance evaluations and annual performance evaluations, advises managers of due dates, and records dates of completed evaluations.
  • Reviews employee performance evaluation forms to ensure they are unbiased and effective, and edits them when necessary.
  • Participates in resolving and conducting investigations related to employment issues, allegations of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, etc.
  • Assists managers with documenting oral counseling, preparing written warning notices, and preparing termination of employment letters.
  • Administers the education assistance program, including sending notification letters, reviewing reimbursement request forms, ensuring receipts are attached, and providing data for the Learning Management System.
  • Posts policies, forms, and other documents in PlanSource and Enwisen, and maintains the Enwisen employee database.
  • Responds to verification of employment requests in accordance with company policy.
  • Serves as the Corporate Training Coordinator.
  • Performs COBRA administrative duties.
