We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to run our payroll functions and assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR department. In this role, you will be the go-to resource for employee lifecycle administration, from talent acquisition and compliance to benefits management and full-cycle payroll processing.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with strong, hands-on experience running full-cycle payroll.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional ability to effectively interact and build relationships with employees, managers, and external vendors.
  • Passionate about learning, supporting, and promoting the core objectives of Self Help Movement, Inc.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, process, and distribute payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions.
  • Ensure timely updates for new hires, terminations, and pay rate adjustments while maintaining and auditing timesheets.
  • Ensure absolute compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Facilitate regular audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation.
  • Recruit and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants, managing the pre-employment pipeline and criminal background checks.
  • Administer comprehensive employee benefits including health and welfare, STD/LTD, Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, and our 401(k) plan.
  • Support the HR team through the annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Coordinate required employee training and seminars, explicitly managing our automated training platform, Relias.
  • Streamline employee communications and enforce company policies and procedures to foster a transparent workplace culture.
