About The Position

The Human Resource Generalist is a well-rounded HR professional who works collaboratively with the HR team to support the full cycle of human resources. The primary focus of this position is recruitment and talent acquisition, including sourcing qualified applicants, managing the applicant pipeline, conducting initial phone screens, coordinating interviews and supporting the successful onboarding of new hire. This position plays a key role in attracting and hiring qualified employees while providing a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process. The HR Generalist also supports employee relations, HR programs, compliance, and other general HR functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of full cycle recruitment and talent acquisitions practices, including pre-employment requirements, background checks, phone screens, I9’s and orientation presentation
  • Knowledge of applicable employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, Worker Compensation, and Equal Employment Opportunity, ADA.
  • Awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance
  • Possess initiative, sound judgment, attention to detail and organizational savvy with the capacity to exercise discretion in working with highly confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to compose and edit written communications.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, with exceptional employee facing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop systems and procedures with an eye toward continuously improving process in place, as well as identifying opportunities for new ones.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support recruitment activities for assigned positions
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews between applicants, hiring managers and other interview participants
  • Track applicants through the recruitment process and maintain accurate recruitment records
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation and onboarding, including background and drug screens, offer letters, payroll forms, benefits review, agendas, announcements, tours, etc.
  • Provides human resources support to a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Leads in the planning and coordination of company events.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulation concerning employment.
  • Coordinates open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
  • Facilitates offboarding activities with various departments.
  • Processes employee status changes
  • Maintains records of benefit plans participation, personnel records, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • HR point of contact for HS&E and other related safety compliance and audits.
  • Responds to unemployment inquiries as needed.
  • Facilitates annual compliance training.
  • Leading employee recognition programs.
  • Performing administrative duties (i.e., data entry, electronic filing, order office supplies, process invoices, etc.)
  • Assisting HR team in providing content for the Checkpoint monthly newsletter and Checkpoint TV
  • Manages tuition reimbursement programs.
  • Occasional Travel
  • Other projects and job duties as assigned.
