About the position
The Human Resource Manager at FreshRealm is responsible for overseeing the execution of the People & Culture strategy at the site level. This role involves developing and implementing plans, systems, policies, and processes related to workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent management and development, employee engagement, legal compliance, total rewards, and payroll. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and proactive problem-solver who can provide HR guidance and coaching to line management, build strong relationships with the site team, and contribute to the development of a positive company culture.
Responsibilities
- Partners closely with line management, providing HR guidance and coaching on people matters
- Acts as a primary point of contact for employees, being accessible and approachable
- Builds strong relationships with the site team, improving work relationships, morale, productivity, and retention
- Identifies ways to increase staff retention and productivity, including implementing activities to enhance employee engagement
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Manages workforce needs in partnership with internal talent acquisition team and agencies for hourly non-exempt associates
- Develops a culture that builds a regional "employer of choice" reputation and champions company culture and employee engagement
- Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs
- Conducts prompt and thorough investigations into employee concerns, complaints, and performance issues
- Delivers site new hire onboarding and training
- Ensures employee documentation is up to date and properly stored
- Maintains confidentiality and protects employee data
- Actively identifies gaps and implements process improvements
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Maintains current knowledge of local, state, and federal legal requirements related to employee management
- Acts as a subject matter expert on complex employee relations issues
- Acts as a strategic business partner to site people managers
- Manages accommodation and leave of absence requests, including workers compensation
- Supports organizational initiatives
Requirements
- Working knowledge of employment laws and other compliance issues
- Proficiency in Google Suite and HR system applications, Ceridian a plus
- Strong skills in full cycle recruiting
- Strong team player, but also able to work independently
- Strong time management skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to listen and probe to understand underlying needs and/or root cause of an issue
- Local, State and Federal labor law knowledge
