Quality Control Technician

The job overview for the Quality Control Technician position at FreshRealm is as follows: The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for in-plant process testing, compliance, and regulatory standards using FreshRealm's quality and safety policy. They will ensure food safety and safe production standards are followed, while also acting as a resource regarding food safety-related processes, procedures, and equipment. The technician will work with a high level of independence, perform tests on production operations and equipment, and make necessary adjustments. They will also monitor product quality, inspect process control points, and document all QA concerns.

• Perform tests of production operations and equipment to ensure products conform to specifications
• Make necessary process or assembly adjustments based on test results
• Mark items with grade and acceptance or rejection status after inspecting and testing
• Ensure hygiene and good manufacturing practices are followed during product inspection
• Monitor product manufacture and inspect process control points defined by HACCP and GMP
• Reject or retain substandard raw materials, packing materials, IT equipment, and finished products
• Assist in performing audits such as GMP, Glass, Pest Control, etc.
• Document QA concerns in appropriate log books or forms
• Audit production checks and paperwork and provide corrective recommendations if required
• Complete paperwork associated with raw material, traceability, packaging, quality, and controls
• Ensure timely completion and accuracy of paperwork
• Enter data using computer software and electronic equipment
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and champion GMP processes
• Establish and maintain good communication with all departments and levels of management
• Perform other tasks and duties as needed

• One year of experience in quality control or a related field
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
• Ability to perform tests and inspections on production operations and equipment
• Familiarity with Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and recommend corrective actions
• Proficient in completing and maintaining documentation accurately and on time
• Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with computer software and electronic equipment for data entry
• Understanding and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with all levels of management and departments
