About The Position

The HSE Aviation Summer Internship Program is part of Woodside’s USA Early Career Pathways initiative and provides students with hands-on experience supporting aviation safety, operational risk, technology, and assurance within Woodside’s broader Health, Safety & Environment organization. Depending on business needs and academic background, interns may contribute to projects related to aviation safety, operational assurance, risk management, aviation technology and innovation, safety data and analytics, human factors, emergency preparedness, regulatory requirements, contractor performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Interns may also have opportunities to explore how robotics, emerging technologies, automation, and digital tools can be used to support safer and more efficient aviation and operational activities. Interns will work alongside experienced aviation, HSE, engineering, technology, and operational professionals while gaining exposure to Woodside’s operating environment, safety culture, and values. The internship serves as a primary feeder into Woodside’s future graduate and early-career programs and supports Woodside’s broader workforce and capability planning strategy in the United States.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Aviation Safety, Aviation Management, Aviation Science, Safety Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Robotics, Human Factors/Ergonomics, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Rising junior or senior with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028 through Spring 2029.
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university for the full duration of the 2027 internship.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30.
  • Available for a minimum of twelve (12) consecutive weeks during Summer 2027.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and must not require current or future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., F-1).
  • Agree to complete pre-employment screening.
  • Understand that correspondence will primarily be conducted via email.
  • Agree not to utilize AI or AI-assisted tools during any part of the application or interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting aviation safety, operational risk, technology, and assurance within Woodside’s broader Health, Safety & Environment organization.
  • Contributing to projects related to aviation safety, operational assurance, risk management, aviation technology and innovation, safety data and analytics, human factors, emergency preparedness, regulatory requirements, contractor performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exploring how robotics, emerging technologies, automation, and digital tools can be used to support safer and more efficient aviation and operational activities.
  • Working alongside experienced aviation, HSE, engineering, technology, and operational professionals.
  • Gaining exposure to Woodside’s operating environment, safety culture, and values.
