About The Position

The Environmental Summer Internship Program is part of Woodside’s USA Early Career Pathways initiative and sits within Woodside’s broader Health, Safety & Environment organization. The program is designed to build a sustainable pipeline of future environmental and HSE talent. The program provides undergraduate students with hands-on, real-world experience supporting environmental stewardship and regulatory priorities across Woodside’s U.S. business. Depending on business needs and academic background, projects may include environmental compliance, emissions and sustainability initiatives, environmental data and reporting, permitting, waste management, water management, biodiversity, regulatory research, environmental risk assessment, and operational environmental performance. Interns will work alongside experienced HSE and Environmental professionals while gaining exposure to Woodside’s operating environment, environmental management systems, regulatory obligations, safety culture, and commitment to responsible operations. The internship serves as a primary feeder into Woodside’s future graduate and early-career programs and supports Woodside’s broader workforce and capability planning strategy in the United States.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Rising junior or senior with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028 through Spring 2029.
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university for the full duration of the 2027 internship.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30.
  • Available for a minimum of twelve (12) consecutive weeks during Summer 2027.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and must not require current or future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., F-1).
  • Agree to complete pre-employment screening.
  • Agree not to utilize AI or AI-assisted tools during any part of the application or interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental stewardship and regulatory priorities across Woodside’s U.S. business.
  • Engage in projects related to environmental compliance, emissions and sustainability initiatives, environmental data and reporting, permitting, waste management, water management, biodiversity, regulatory research, environmental risk assessment, and operational environmental performance.
  • Work alongside experienced HSE and Environmental professionals.
  • Gain exposure to Woodside’s operating environment, environmental management systems, regulatory obligations, safety culture, and commitment to responsible operations.
