About The Position

The Housekeeping Aide provides cleaning services to maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and others. Services must follow facility policies and procedures and comply with state and federal laws and regulations. The role is based at The Landing of Long Cove in Mason, Ohio, and is full-time with some weekends.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and computer skills.
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Understand and uphold the policies and procedures established by TCSL.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism, and to be a positive leader.
• Practical interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with residents and co-workers.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds and bend, twist, stoop, kneel, reach, and sit for long periods.
• Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned resident apartments, bathrooms, and common areas daily according to community policy, while protecting resident privacy and respecting their property.
• Keep utility and storage rooms clean and orderly.
• Post signs when housekeeping activities create environmental hazards for staff, residents, visitors, or others.
• Use personal protective equipment when at risk of exposure to blood or other potentially hazardous body fluids, in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Follow safety instructions and procedures when using chemicals, referring to labels and Material Safety Data Sheets for instructions.
• Keep chemicals and cleaning supplies in their original containers and ask a supervisor if unsure about their use.
• Monitor the workplace for safety and fire hazards and correct or report potential problems.
• Report housekeeping and maintenance problems, including equipment breakdowns, to the supervisor.
• Secure housekeeping supplies so residents cannot access them.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
