About The Position

The Housekeeper demonstrates and promotes a strong commitment to providing the best possible experience for guests and associates. The position is responsible for cleaning guest rooms in accordance with company guidelines and procedures, maintaining hotel cleanliness, and responding to guest requests when possible and practical. The role also includes maintaining housekeeping carts and work areas, reporting maintenance issues and guest property left in checkout rooms, following safety and security procedures, and completing required and annual Extended Stay University training. No prior experience or training is necessary.

Requirements

Understand instructions, policies, and guidelines, and communicate effectively with the manager and staff.
Understand and follow guidelines and adhere to time objectives, productivity measurements, and other company standards and expectations.
Apply good judgment at all times.
No prior experience or training is necessary.
Regularly remain stationary, be mobile, navigate the hotel, handle, reach, and detect objects, tools, or controls, and detect scents and sounds.
Regularly access low areas, traverse heights while remaining stable, balance, and bend, kneel, or crouch.
Occasionally push or pull carts or cleaning equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Detect items in guest rooms to ensure safe performance of work.
Frequently work in outside weather conditions, depending on the hotel.
May occasionally work in wet, humid conditions; near moving mechanical parts; around fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals; and with risk of electrical shock.
Work in a typically moderate-to-loud noise environment.
May be asked to travel to additional locations within a reasonable geographic area.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate and promote a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for guests and associates.
Clean assigned guest rooms in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
Maintain housekeeping carts, cart rooms, and laundry areas to company standards while in use.
Stock carts and cart rooms when necessary or as directed by management.
Report maintenance issues directly to the front desk and/or manager on duty.
Report guest property remaining in a checkout room directly to the front desk and manager on duty.
Assist with and provide reasonable accommodation in response to guest requests whenever possible and practical.
Comply with all safety and security policies and procedures.
Complete all required and annual Extended Stay University training.
Clean other hotel areas as assigned, including associate breakrooms, guest laundry, fitness rooms, vending areas, stairwells, and common areas.
Maintain overall hotel cleanliness.
Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
