About The Position
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring, and work areas. Room-cleaning duties include replenishing supplies, sanitizing equipment, and making beds. The position also involves general cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting. Housekeepers are expected to follow company policies and chemical-safety regulations, report for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform, and greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Prioritization and time-management skills.
- Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
- Strong attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
- Experience with hotel brand systems preferred.
Responsibilities
- Make beds and replenish guest-room supplies, including drinking glasses, writing supplies, and bathroom supplies.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Vacuum rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture, and clean draperies.
- Dust furniture and equipment, and polish metal fixtures and fittings.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays, clean ashtrays, and transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
- Replace light bulbs.
- Follow regulations set forth by material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
- Arrive for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform, in accordance with company policy.
- Comply with company policies and procedures related to the position and its duties.
- Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
- Perform other related duties as required.
