About The Position

We are a busy, warm, and deeply connected household in Canton, Michigan, seeking a Part-Time House Manager with Meal Prep Support. Both parents work remotely in high-demand professional roles and are also building side ventures. Travel is occasional. Our home is full of life with two young children, two cats, and a fast-paced rhythm. Our older child has high support needs and has a dedicated nanny. Our younger child attends daycare. A possible third child is anticipated, so this household is growing. We have put a lot of thought and love into our home and are committed to building a strong, well-run household. We need someone to own and maintain organizational systems established by professional organizers. We also have a rental property nearby that may occasionally require support during regular working hours. We're looking for a trusted, consistent presence who feels like family while maintaining professionalism. Reliability, timing, and genuine warmth are deeply valued.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
  • Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines (including general, COVID-19, and flu vaccinations), subject to applicable legal accommodations
  • CPR and First Aid certified, or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Ability to navigate a multi-level home
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Plan weekly dinner menus and prep all ingredients for approximately 4 dinners per week.
  • Batch cook 2-3 breakfast items per week.
  • Prepare specialized food purees and weekly meals for the child with high support needs.
  • Manage grocery delivery orders and put groceries away.
  • Perform kitchen clean-up and maintenance.
  • Conduct daily household resets, including light tidying, dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
  • Create and maintain organizational systems throughout the home.
  • Perform garage refresh and maintenance.
  • Perform backyard and outdoor space resets, managing kids' outdoor toys and keeping the patio and yard ready for family use.
  • Handle package management: sort and put away packages, break down boxes, and manage garbage and recycling.
  • Maintain and clean humidifiers, air purifiers, and shower/bath purifier filters.
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors as needed.
  • Perform indoor and outdoor plant care.
  • Manage seasonal clothing swaps, wardrobe refreshes, and donation drop-offs.
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel.
  • Handle family laundry: wash, dry, fold, organize, and put away.
  • Carefully handle delicates, using separate cycles and hang drying as needed.
  • Rotate and wash sheets and towels weekly, and remake beds.
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas.
  • Monitor and restock household supplies (pantry, fridge, paper goods, laundry products, pet supplies, etc.).
  • Manage household subscriptions and delivery orders.
  • Run errands such as dry cleaning, returns, and gift shopping.
  • Manage mail and package handling.
  • Clean and maintain the older child's room.
  • Prep backpacks, clothing, and snacks as needed.
  • Provide back-up childcare when the regular nanny is unavailable or on vacation.
  • Provide house and pet sitting during family vacations.
  • Assist with event and appointment coordination, including complex scheduling.
  • Act as on-site point of contact for contractors, cleaners, and vendors.
  • Research and coordinate repairs, providing vendor quotes as needed.
  • Source and vet a new cleaning service.
  • Manage Skylight calendar: add tasks, track household responsibilities, and delineate ownership.
  • Provide travel planning and logistics support for the whole family.
  • Provide occasional support at a nearby rental property during regular working hours.
  • Schedule and coordinate family vehicle maintenance.
  • Fuel, clean, and organize family vehicles.
  • Track vehicle registration and insurance renewals.
  • Provide daily cat feeding and water.
  • Perform weekly litter box changes and ongoing litter maintenance.
  • Maintain pet supplies and schedule vet appointments as needed.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.).
  • Perform daily foyer/entry and backyard refresh.
  • Undertake organizational projects as they arise throughout the home.
