About The Position

The House Car Driver helps create guests’ first impression of the hotel and its services by performing duties in a professional and friendly manner. This role transports guests to and from destinations, assists with bags and guest questions, and supports lobby traffic when not driving. The driver is expected to know the resort’s operational policies and procedures, Kiawah Island and the surrounding area, and to maintain the appearance of the hotel fleet. The position averages four shifts, or approximately 32 hours per week, and must be performed on site.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Previous guest service experience in a luxury hotel or resort setting is appreciated but not essential.
• Ability to remain calm in a stressful and/or hurried environment.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Good to excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Must pass a background check.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable past driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds across a short-to-medium distance.
• Ability to drive for long periods at a time.
• Must work on site due to the daily needs of the job.

Responsibilities

• Transport guests to and from destinations and assist with their bags and questions.
• Follow road rules and maintain a safe driving speed while transporting guests.
• Facilitate guest traffic in the lobby, open doors, and answer guests’ questions when not transporting guests.
• Maintain and uphold the appearance of the hotel fleet’s luxury cars.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of hotel operational policies and procedures, resort services, Kiawah Island, and the immediate area.
• Uphold the resort’s core values, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
