Hotel Maintenance Assistant - Part-Time
About The Position
The Hotel Maintenance Assistant is a part-time role responsible for maintaining the hotel property and assisting the Chief Engineer. The position is at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Orlando Near UCF, a 124-suite hotel owned and managed by Buffalo Lodging Associates. The role includes basic repairs and upkeep across the property, including painting, wall covering, plumbing, electrical work, pool operations, preventative maintenance, and indoor and outdoor grounds maintenance. The assistant maintains fixtures and equipment according to preventative maintenance schedules and records the work in required log books. The position also includes servicing pool and spa areas, testing and recording conditions according to state and local regulations, and cleaning building interiors, public and storage areas, and the parking lot. This position involves 2–3 shifts per week. Depending on hotel occupancy, shifts may be in the morning from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. or in the evening from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance skills are required.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, lift, push, carry, and pull up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to reach overhead, climb, crouch, and twist.
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years of experience maintaining and repairing buildings; hotel experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic repairs, painting, wall covering, plumbing, electrical work, pool operations, preventative maintenance, and indoor and outdoor grounds upkeep.
- Assist with maintaining hotel fixtures and equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
- Record maintenance in log books as required by the company and hotel brand.
- Maintain and service pool and spa areas, including testing and recording as required by state and local regulations.
- Clean interior building areas, including sweeping, mopping, and removing garbage.
- Maintain the cleanliness of public and storage areas and the parking lot.
- Assist the Chief Engineer with upkeep of the hotel property.
