About The Position

Maintains and repairs the physical structures of hotel buildings and maintains the grounds. The role also supports guest satisfaction by responding promptly to maintenance concerns and working with other departments to address service and repair requests. Employees are expected to follow KHC policies and property-specific guidelines, maintain a professional image, and report to work as scheduled.

Requirements

Must meet the physical demands of the role, including regularly standing and walking and using hands to handle, grasp, or type.
Must be able to frequently reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or twist, talk or hear, and push, pull, or lift over 10 pounds.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Must have close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must follow proper safety precautions at all times.

Responsibilities

Clean internal hotel areas, including storage and boiler rooms, parking lots, public areas, banquet rooms, and guest rooms; perform tasks such as buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing windows, and consolidating trash.
Maintain and repair hotel plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches, fuses, faucets, and valves.
Replace worn or damaged parts in machines and equipment, including vehicles, vacuum cleaners, and riding mowers.
Monitor hotel swimming pools and adjust them to maintain proper sanitation and chemical usage.
Maintain grounds by cutting grass, trimming weeds, constructing decorative flower garden borders, digging flower beds, and planting flowers.
Repair parking lots and sidewalks using asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete.
Operate snow removal equipment to keep parking lots and sidewalks clean and clear of obstacles.
Repair, paint, or replace interior walls and trim, including wood, brick, stone, and concrete.
Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
Greet guests warmly and correct maintenance concerns quickly and efficiently.
Coordinate with other departments to respond promptly to guest requests for services and repairs.
Help secure the property, including vehicles, tools, furniture, supplies, key cards, and guests.
Use materials, chemicals, and tools safely to avoid waste, damage, and accidents.
Participate in property safety and preventative maintenance programs to maintain a safe, hazard-free working environment.
Assist with setting up, tearing down, and cleaning banquet and meeting rooms as assigned.
Run errands and drive as necessary to meet business needs.
Follow KHC policies and procedures, including dress code, safety, and performance standards; maintain a professional image and report to work as scheduled.
