Hotel Maintenance Assistant Full time
About The Position
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for upkeep of the Fairfield Inn property and assists the Chief Engineer. The role typically works from 2:00 to 11:00 PM, with flexibility required to work weekends and holidays and to cover other shifts. Duties include basic repairs, painting, wall covering, plumbing, electrical work, pool operations, preventative maintenance, and upkeep of indoor and outdoor grounds. The assistant maintains fixtures and equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule and records maintenance in log books as required by Buffalo Lodging Associates and the hotel brand. The role also services pool and spa areas, including testing and recording as required by state and local regulations; cleans building interiors; and maintains public and storage areas and the parking lot.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of mechanic experience in a hotel or related field.
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance skills.
- Ability to bend, kneel, lift, push, carry, and pull up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to reach overhead, climb, crouch, and twist.
- Valid driver's license.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays and cover other shifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic repair work, painting, wall covering, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Assist with pool operations and maintain and service pool and spa areas, including testing and recording results as required by state and local regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance and maintain fixtures and equipment according to the schedule.
- Record maintenance in log books as required by Buffalo Lodging Associates and the hotel brand.
- Maintain indoor and outdoor grounds.
- Clean building interiors, including sweeping, mopping, and removing garbage.
- Maintain the cleanliness of public and storage areas and the parking lot.
- Assist the Chief Engineer with hotel property upkeep.
