Hotel Maintenance Assistant Full time
About The Position
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for upkeep of the hotel property and assists the Chief Engineer. The role includes basic repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property, servicing the pool and spa, and maintaining indoor and outdoor grounds and public areas. The assistant follows maintenance schedules and records work in log books as required by Buffalo Lodging Associates and the hotel brand, and maintains pool and spa areas in accordance with state and local regulations. The position typically works from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with flexibility required to work weekends and holidays and to cover other shifts. The hotel is a 127-room Fairfield Inn owned and managed by Buffalo Lodging Associates.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of mechanic experience in a hotel or related field.
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance skills.
- Ability to bend, kneel, lift, push, carry, and pull up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to reach overhead, climb, crouch, and twist.
- Valid driver's license.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays and cover other shifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic repairs, including painting, wall covering, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Assist with pool operations and perform preventative maintenance.
- Maintain indoor and outdoor grounds.
- Maintain hotel fixtures and equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule and record maintenance in log books as required by Buffalo Lodging Associates and the hotel brand.
- Maintain and service pool and spa areas, including testing and recording results as required by state and local regulations.
- Clean internal building areas, including sweeping, mopping, and removing garbage.
- Maintain the cleanliness of public areas, storage areas, and the parking lot.
- Assist the Chief Engineer with upkeep of the hotel property.
