About The Position

The barista is responsible for greeting guests, taking orders, preparing beverages, and serving guests safely and efficiently in compliance with company policies and procedures, brand standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The role also includes handling guest payments, maintaining clean and stocked work areas, and providing friendly, timely service.

Requirements

High school diploma or related experience.
Familiarity with the hospitality industry.
Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
Knowledge of proper ordering, beverage preparation, and food-handling techniques.
Ability to follow policies and procedures.
Attention to detail.
Professional attitude and behavior, with effective listening and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Process guest checks and collect payments in compliance with cash-handling, credit-card, room-charge, and accounting policies and procedures.
Promptly report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items, safety hazards, and deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards, or regulations to management.
Comply with guest-service basics, including uniform and name-tag requirements and proper guest greetings.
Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities and services to assist guests.
Provide quality, timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.
Promptly take guest orders.
Prepare beverages promptly according to prescribed procedures.
Deliver beverages and food to guests.
Report tips in compliance with company policy and IRS regulations.
Clean equipment and work areas.
Restock service items.
Attend department meetings as scheduled.
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
