About The Position

The barista is responsible for greeting guests, selling and taking orders, preparing beverages, and serving guests safely and efficiently in compliance with company policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state, and local regulations. The role provides friendly, timely service and supports hotel guests with information about hotel facilities and services.

Requirements

High school diploma or related experience.
Familiarity with the hospitality industry.
Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
Knowledge of proper ordering, beverage preparation, and food-handling techniques.
Ability to follow policies and procedures.
Detail-oriented.
Professional attitude and behavior, with effective listening and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet guests, take orders promptly, and provide pleasant, friendly service.
Prepare beverages promptly according to prescribed procedures and deliver beverages and food to guests.
Process guest checks and collect payments in accordance with cash-handling, credit-card transaction, room-charge, and accounting policies and procedures.
Report tips in compliance with company policy and IRS regulations.
Clean equipment and work areas and restock service items.
Report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items, and safety hazards to management.
Report deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards, and regulations to management.
Comply with guest-service basics, including uniform and name-tag requirements and proper guest greetings.
Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities and services to assist guests.
Attend department meetings as scheduled.
Perform special projects and other assigned responsibilities.
