About The Position

As a Hostperson for The Corner Store at The Cosmopolitan, you will help launch a new culinary concept and create a polished, welcoming guest experience. You will greet guests, manage the restaurant’s entryway and reservation flow, and coordinate guest seating with service and culinary teams. You will also communicate guest requests and feedback to management and help maintain smooth operations and quality service.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of prior relevant experience as a hostperson in a fine-dining restaurant or similar luxury dining environment.
• Experience with OpenTable or SevenRooms.

Responsibilities

• Communicate special orders, cake orders, and other special requests with Restaurant Reservations, and convey the information to management.
• Maintain knowledge of daily activities and in-house groups, daily house count, table, seat, and station numbers, table setups, room capacity, hours, price range, and dress code.
• Promptly greet guests as they enter the restaurant.
• Answer phones, accurately track reservations, and manage the reservation book.
• Ensure menus have current inserts and replace menus that are in poor condition.
• Communicate guest needs to the kitchen and management, share guest reactions and comments with management, and assist management as needed to support smooth operations and quality service.
• Check in with waiting guests and keep them informed while tables are being prepared.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas; shut down the podium and forward phones to voice-loop at the end of the shift.
