About The Position
As a Host at RIZE, you are the first point of contact for guests and help create a welcoming first impression. You manage guest arrivals, reservations, waitlists, seating, and communication with the restaurant team to support an efficient and enjoyable dining experience. You also provide guests with information and assistance, and maintain an organized host stand and waiting area. Previous host or hostess experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the restaurant for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 20 pounds.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with reservation systems or software.
- Previous host or hostess experience; not required, and training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Manage waitlists and reservations, estimate wait times, and keep waiting guests informed and comfortable.
- Escort guests to tables, present menus, and provide assistance as needed.
- Seat guests according to seating charts and server rotation while optimizing table turnover.
- Take and confirm reservations by phone or through the restaurant's reservation system, and accurately maintain the reservation book.
- Communicate guest requests and preferences to servers and kitchen staff.
- Provide information about the restaurant, menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
- Assist guests with coat check, if applicable, and handle inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally.
- Communicate and coordinate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to manage guest flow and support efficient service.
- Keep the host stand and waiting area clean, organized, and well-stocked; maintain menus and promotional materials in good condition.
