Host - BRU Burger, Lafayette
About The Position
As a Host at BRU Burger in Lafayette, you are the first point of contact for guests and help create a welcoming dining experience. You greet and seat guests, manage reservations and waitlists, provide information and assistance, and coordinate with restaurant team members to support efficient seating and service. You also maintain an orderly host stand and waiting area. Training is provided; prior host or hostess experience is preferred but not required. The position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable regulations.
Requirements

- Previous host or hostess experience; not required, and training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Welcome arriving guests with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Manage the waitlist and reservations, estimate wait times, and keep waiting guests informed and comfortable.
- Escort guests to tables, present menus, and provide assistance as needed.
- Seat guests according to seating charts and server rotation to optimize table turnover.
- Take and confirm reservations by phone or through the restaurant's reservation system, and maintain accurate reservation records.
- Communicate guest preferences, special requests, and other relevant information to servers, kitchen staff, and other team members.
- Provide information about the restaurant, menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
- Assist with coat check, if applicable, and handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally.
- Coordinate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to manage guest flow and support efficient service.
- Keep the host stand and waiting area clean, organized, and stocked, and ensure menus and promotional materials are in good condition and available.
