About The Position

The Host is the first point of contact for guests and helps create a welcoming dining experience. This role manages reservations and waitlists, seats guests efficiently according to seating charts and server rotation, and coordinates with restaurant staff to support smooth service and guest satisfaction. The Host also answers guest questions, communicates requests and preferences to team members, and keeps the host stand and waiting area clean and organized. Training will be provided; previous host or hostess experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome arriving guests with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Manage reservations and the waitlist, provide estimated wait times, and keep waiting guests informed.
• Escort guests to tables, present menus, and provide necessary assistance.
• Seat guests according to seating charts and server rotation while optimizing table turnover.
• Take and confirm reservations by phone or through the restaurant reservation system, and maintain accurate reservation records.
• Communicate special requests and guest preferences to servers and kitchen staff.
• Provide information about the restaurant, menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
• Assist with coat check, if applicable.
• Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally and attentively.
• Communicate and coordinate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to manage guest flow and support efficient service.
• Keep the host stand and waiting area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Ensure menus, promotional materials, and other items are in good condition and readily available.
