About The Position

As a Host at BRU Burger Bar, you are the first point of contact for guests and help create a welcoming dining experience. You greet and seat guests, manage reservations and waitlists, coordinate with restaurant staff, and help maintain an orderly host stand and waiting area. It is classified as non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation under applicable regulations.

• Previous host or hostess experience; experience is preferred but not required, and training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and manage the waitlist, estimate wait times, escort guests to tables, present menus, and seat guests according to seating charts and server rotation.
• Take and confirm reservations by phone or through the restaurant's reservation system, and keep reservation records accurate and up to date.
• Communicate guests' special requests and preferences to servers and kitchen staff.
• Provide information about the restaurant, menu items, daily specials, and promotions; assist with coat check if applicable; and address guest inquiries, concerns, and requests professionally.
• Communicate and coordinate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to manage guest flow and support efficient service.
• Track waiting guests, communicate waitlist status and estimated wait times, and notify guests when tables are ready.
• Keep the host stand and waiting area clean, organized, and stocked; ensure menus and promotional materials are in good condition and available.
