Host - Eataly Soho
About The Position
A Host is the first and last point of contact with restaurant guests, responsible for greeting, seating, and saying goodbye to guests while maintaining the flow of the restaurant during service. The Host diligently and efficiently manages seating in Eataly’s restaurants and reports to the Restaurant Manager. The role oversees the general functioning of the dining room during meal service, relays information to managers and service personnel, and maintains an accurate, fair, and up-to-date waitlist and seating chart using a computerized system. Hosts take and manage reservations where applicable, balance guest flow among service stations, and accommodate requests for particular tables or servers when available. They inform guests when tables are ready, escort them to tables, provide menus, and introduce the server. Hosts also assist servers and bus persons as needed to maintain service effectiveness and efficiency, and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume restaurant.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
