About The Position

The Mechanic provides guidance and technical direction in resolving maintenance and facilities problems at Eataly Flatiron. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this role helps ensure work is completed efficiently, within regulatory guidelines and projected deadlines. The Mechanic inspects repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance and supplies, and assists with maintenance projects such as site repairs, construction and preventive maintenance. The position is onsite at a 24-hour operating facility and requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Maintenance or technician experience.
Capability to set up preventive maintenance for all aspects of buildings.
Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints.
Sense of urgency.
Excellent communication skills.
Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
Availability to work onsite on a flexible schedule at a 24-hour operating facility, often including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting.
Ability to operate carts, hand trucks and other facilities and cleaning equipment.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and refrigeration.

Responsibilities

Inspect repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance and supplies to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
Assist the Facilities Manager with maintenance projects, including site repairs, construction and preventive maintenance, to support completion within established time frames, project design and budget.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
