About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Host for its B-Lux Burgers & Shake Restaurant. The Host provides a warm, friendly greeting and responsive service to dining guests, manages efficient and timely seating with guests’ preferences in mind, and helps create an organized, welcoming dining environment. The role coordinates with servers and other team members, supports associates as needed, and sets a positive tone for each guest’s visit.

The pay rate is $14 per hour. The position requires general food and beverage knowledge and at least one year of high-volume experience in an upscale dining environment. OpenTable experience is preferred. The Host must be able to operate a point-of-sale system and telephone, understand simple written instructions and correspondence, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly manner and escort them to their assigned dining area.
• Rotate tables when seating guests throughout the shift.
• Announce the name and party size when tables become available, using a courteous, friendly, pleasant, professional, and clear tone.
• Present menus and announce the server’s name upon seating guests.
• Inspect tables to ensure proper presentation and completeness.
• Assist servers, bussers, co-hosts or hostesses, and management as situations arise.
• Answer the telephone using the proper Kalahari Resort verbiage.
• Coordinate with servers and other team members to maintain an organized and friendly dining environment.
• Manage waiting times efficiently and help set a positive tone for guests’ visits.
