About The Position

The Host Person is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing table rotation, providing menus and information about specials, coordinating with other staff, operating the cash register, maintaining the host area, answering phone calls, taking to-go orders, and performing other duties as assigned. This role requires adherence to the Thoughtful Service Model and Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to greet and seat guests according to guest preference, table availability, and within proper rotation guidelines.
  • Ability to ensure business flow and distribution of customers to server by following the direction of management, fair and consistent seating rotation of tables, and communication with staff of business volume changes.
  • Ability to provide guests with menus, inform guests of restaurant specials, and feature items.
  • Ability to coordinate with food servers, bus persons, and other restaurant personnel in providing guest service.
  • Ability to operate electronic cash register system to accurately and immediately account for payment transactions and transports monies to and from the main credit cage.
  • Ability to keep cash register and host area stocked with necessary equipment, forms, and supplies.
  • Ability to perform all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines described in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standard.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance for scheduled work.
  • Ability to answer phone calls and take to-go orders.
  • Must follow the Thoughtful Service Model at all times.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
