Part- time Host/ Hostess
About The Position
The Host/Hostess welcomes guests, manages reservations and the waiting list, and coordinates table availability with restaurant staff. This is a part-time morning and evening position. Morning shifts are 8:00 AM–12:00 PM or 8:00 AM–2:00 PM; evening shifts are 4:00 PM–8:00 PM or 4:00 PM–9:00 PM. Applicants must be able to speak English; bilingual ability is a plus. The company conducts post-offer employment verification, motor vehicle, and criminal background checks. Requirements
- Must be able to speak English.
- Must have courteous phone skills and the ability to take accurate messages.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual ability.
- High school diploma or GED; not required.
- Previous experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly and inviting manner.
- Take reservations using the restaurant reservation system.
- Engage guests in friendly conversation while seating them in a timely fashion.
- Manage the restaurant waiting list during high-volume periods and provide accurate estimated wait times.
- Manage the inventory of available tables.
- Thank guests sincerely as they leave and invite them to return.
- Communicate with wait staff and supervisors about table availability.
- Communicate complaints or compliments to a supervisor.
- Follow company rules and regulations as defined in the employee handbook.
- Wear the appropriate uniform in accordance with company policy.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
