Part- time Host/ Hostess
About The Position
The Host/Hostess greets and seats restaurant guests, handles reservations and waiting lists, and communicates table availability and guest feedback to wait staff and supervisors. This is a part-time morning and evening position, with listed shifts of 8:00 AM–12:00 PM or 8:00 AM–2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM–8:00 PM or 4:00 PM–9:00 PM. Applicants must speak English; bilingual ability is a plus. The company conducts post-offer employment verification and motor vehicle and criminal background checks. Requirements
- Must be able to speak English.
- Must have courteous phone skills and the ability to take accurate messages.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED is a plus but not required.
- Previous experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly and inviting manner.
- Take reservations using the restaurant reservation system.
- Engage in friendly conversation while seating guests in a timely fashion.
- Manage the restaurant waiting list during high-volume periods and provide accurate wait-time estimates.
- Manage the inventory of available tables.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
- Communicate table availability to wait staff and supervisors.
- Communicate guest complaints or compliments to a supervisor.
- Follow company rules and regulations as defined in the employee handbook.
- Wear the appropriate uniform according to company policy.
