About The Position

The Host/Cashier at Red Lotus provides timely, knowledgeable guest service, greets and seats guests according to their preferences and table availability, and shares menus, specials, and featured items. The role coordinates with servers, bus persons, and other restaurant staff to support the guest experience. It also operates an electronic cash register, accounts for payment transactions, transports monies to and from the main Credit cage, stocks the cash register and host area, and maintains dining and serving areas according to standards.

Requirements

• One year of experience directly related to the specified responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with guests.
• Demonstrated money-handling and math skills.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a computerized cash register.
• Must be age 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and knowledgeable service and find solutions to guest problems; use guests’ names when appropriate.
• Greet and seat guests according to their preferences and table availability.
• Provide menus and inform guests about restaurant specials and featured items.
• Coordinate guest service with food servers, bus persons, and other restaurant personnel.
• Operate the electronic cash register to accurately account for payment transactions and transport monies to and from the main Credit cage.
• Keep the cash register and host area stocked with necessary equipment, forms, and supplies.
• Ensure dining and serving areas are set up and maintained according to standards.
